The disease put her in a torment state that is portrayed in ‘Our Lady of Pain’, where her sickness is imagined as hellish fire inside her belly. The pain spreads like the great forest fire, same as the Chemotherapy burned inside. The shape of the yew tree looks like a cage in which she was trapped, metaphorically as that she was a prisoner in her own body. She escaped from her torment, and retreated into a world of memories.
